Fall Retreat is just Weeks Away!

We're excited!  Our annual Fall Retreat Event is just around the corner ... October 26-28th!  Sam and her committee have been working hard planning this weekend full of fun and quilting.  Participants have two choices:

• Machine Quilting Workshop, in the Home Ec room, $50 fee
• Loose Ends, in the library, $10 fee

Friday - 6-8 pm. Snack and appetizers will be provided

Satuday - 9 am - 6 pm. One hour lunch on your own and dinner is provided.

Sunday - 9-noon. Snacks provided

Am sure everyone would agree that this past month's weather has been a reminder that the best way to survive these coastal storms is to quilt!  The Holiday Thimbleberries kits have arrived and we will meet this Sunday, September 30th from 1-5 pm!  Bring any of your Thimbleberries projects and lets party!

Time to Sew in July!

Time passes sew quickly!  Our July "Time to Sew" is scheduled for July 7th ... yes, that is TOMORROW!  The Home Ec room will be open at 9:00 and will be available until midnight!  Hope you can come and join the fun!

Also...an update from Diane U. concerning the quilt construction project she is in charge of for our annual tea and auction.  She and her committee will to making the pattern, Twinkle from Sew Be It.  They need donations of batik fabrics that are a minimum of 6.5 x 8.5 inches in size.  They welcome fat quarters or yardage.  Every color is welcome ... she literally wants this quilt to twinkle!  Please drop your fabric donations off at the Home Ec room on Saturday or to Diane at the CEC office.

June's Patchwork Party!

Terry B. had reason to party ... her table topper is completely finished!  It was inspiring for all of us to see it quilted and bound!  A finish is always cause to celebrate!   Great job Terry!  It is beautiful!

We received out fall kits and Terry got right to work on hers!

Snowbird Julie has returned for the summer!  It was fun to sew and catch up with her ... we're all happy to have her home!

Lila was busy cutting out a project!  Several other party members dropped by to pick up kits!  It was such a beautiful day ... in every way!

A new shipment of Fall Themed kits have arrived from Thimbleberries!  It is time for June's Thimbleberries Club Meeting!

Lots of Inspiration @ Time to Sew!

Wow!  Our members have been busy!  Take a look!

Terry B recently finished this Alaskana version of the BQ pattern!  We all loved the fussy cut bears.  Both in the blocks and the borders.

She machine quilted a large bear paw print on the blocks and bears in the border!  What a beautiful wall quilt!

Terry also shared her completed table runner!

She spent the rest of the day working on her block of the month project!  It is going to be beautiful!

Valerie spent the day tracing, cutting out and then fusing together this Poppy wall hanging!

Sam shared her completed "Bob the Builder" quilt which will soon be on its way to a lucky little boy!

We loved the polar fleece that she used on the back!  Such fun!

Sam spent most of the day working on a paper pieced Mariner's Compass pattern.

Darlene made great progress on her paper pieced pineapple blocks!

Diane U. brought in her completed Midnight version of Bonnie Hunter's Blue Ridge Beauty!  Stunning!

She also shared with us her completed mystery quilt!

Diane spent the rest of the evening knitting this beautiful scarf.  We were teasing her that her outfit matched both quilts and the scarf...what fun!

We enjoyed our potluck dinner!  Minutes of the business meeting will be posted as soon as they become available.  We all left inspired and looking forward to next Time to Sew on July 7th!  Hope to see you there!

...we're beginning summer with a Time to Sew event!  The fun begins tomorrow at 9:00 am in the Home Ec room!  A potluck dinner will be served at 6:00 pm and a quarterly business meeting immediately (about 7:00 pm) afterward!

Be sure to bring the following:

• show and tell items  
• a current project to work on
• a dish to share
