Groves Family Quilt! Please Participate!

Our hearts ache for the Groves family and all they lost in the fire.  Neva N. and Diane U. have organized an opportunity for us to participate in making them a quilt.  Everyone who wants to participate is asked to contribute fabric.  You are asked to bring two 4 inch, width of the fabric strips of any colored batik fabric.  Both strips must be of the same fabric.  If you are using a fat quarter ... please bring four 4 inch by 21 inch strips of the same batik fabric.

Please bring your fabric Friday, so that work on the quilt top can begin right away.  They will also accept donations towards batting, backing and quilting expenses.  If you are unable to attend retreat and would still like to contribute to this effort, stop by CEC and drop off donations to Diane U.

If you have further questions contact Neva N. and Diane U.  Thanks in advance for your help in this effort!

Spring Retreat Update!

It's not too late to take Renee's class, "Pam's Trip"!  Stop by CEC and see Diane U. to sign up and get fabric requirements and cutting instructions.  The fun begins at 6:30 pm in the Home Ec room!

Loose Ends will set up in the library beginning at 6:30 pm!

Members are encouraged, but not required to bring snacks to share! ;-)

A catered dinner by our personal guild chef, Sandy Ponte, is available Saturday evening at 6:00 pm.  The menu is an assortment of pizzas, Ceasar Salad , dessert and a beverage...all for the economical price of $15!

A membership meeting will take place immediately following dinner at 7:00 pm.  We will be electing new officers, establishing committees, forming special interest groups, and choosing what classes Bonnie Hunter will be teaching!  You'll want to be a part of this important meeting!

Hope to see you all there!

Small Sized Mtg / Gigantic Inspiration

We held our emergency Quilter's Anonymous meeting today ... the group was small but the projects were inspiring!  Take a look!
Terry B. brought in these six table toppers that she had pieced, quilted and only had the hand sewing left on the binding.  Boy, has she been busy...she has made a total of eleven!  Yes ... you read that right!
This week Diane U. pieced this top!  Yes ... you read that right ... she made it this week!  And on top of that, she pulled all the fabric except for one from her stash!  It is from Eleanor Burns' book, Quick Trip Quilts.  The photo doesn't capture how beautiful it really is!

Our guild's second youngest member, Kelsey is home for spring break.  She brought in a bargello quilt top that she pieced while in high school.  Yes, you read that right, she was in high school when she pieced this top. Today she and her mother began putting the borders on!  What a masterpiece!  What talent she has!
The youngest member also made an appearance!  Princess Amelia had fun playing with our "A-bobbin-ation" necklace!  It was wonderful to spend an afternoon together.  Priceless.
