April's Time to Sew!

It was a busy day … filled with fun!
We celebrated a Bali Pop finish!
Valerie finished this spring themed top …
… detail of the fun pieced flower block that makes up the border!
She started a new project ...
… and finished it all in the same afternoon!
Barb accomplished a lot!  She bound eight table runners and wall quilts!
Memories of the Minnesota Shop Hop and our first stop at Rosebud's Cottage!
Making great progress on a new project!
Cece turned her leftover Blue Ridge Beauty blocks into a baby blanket!
Terry was hard at work on her Glacier Star …
Four panels done!  She is half way there!  It will be stunning!
Mary shared a baby quilt she recently finished!
Fun use of leftover blocks on the backing!
Diane was a woman with a mission!
Mission accomplished!  She left with her Glacier Pines quilt in one piece!  What a wonderful way to end a productive and enjoyable day!  Inspiring!

Camp Quiltathon - Sunday Recap!

The inspiration continued on Sunday with even more Show n' Tell!  Our members are so inspiring!

Cece machine quilted her quilt … free motion … on her domestic machine!  Impressive!

Next we moved on to our last "Warm-Up" sewing activity!
We made fabric boxes!  Super easy to do … check out the tutorial here.  We all thought of many ways to put these sweet boxes to use!

The day would be short … so members stayed busy!

The "Great Bobbin Race" continued …

Competition was fierce!  Sam won "The Great Bobbin Race"!  She spent the entire weekend piecing together this quilt!  It required six full bobbins!  Congratulations Sam!
In the midst of all our productivity … we did leave our machines long enough to grab a lunch of leftovers!  Yummy!
Every camp experience is all about fun, learning, sharing, growing, and friendship!  A wonderful weekend spent doing what we love with those we care about … the mission of Camp Quiltathon was accomplished!

Camp Quiltathon Saturday Recap!

Saturday morning began with more quilt inspiration!  We began with "Show and Tell" … wow!

Camp Director Valerie shared with us a great "Warm Up" activity.
We all made Twisty Bags!  A project that was quick, fun, and useful!  The Twisty Bags really dressed up our tables and helped us keep all of our stray threads off the floor!  Instructions can be found here.
Mid afternoon we held a Sewing Olympic Team event!  Each table was given supplies to complete  five nine patch blocks.  Blue team won!
Members made great progress on their projects!

Our two youngest members joined us for some fun!  The three-year-old has already participated in our tradition of having Chee-toes while we quilt!  Too cute!
We recruit our members at a very young age!  So sweet!
Our potluck dinner focused on camp themed food!  Baked beans, potato salad, s'mores bars and more.  The main dish was Pigs in a Blanket Quilted Pigs!
Our pigs nearly didn't get quilted … the cooks got a crazy case of the giggles!  Too fun!
Competition in the Great Bobbin Race became fierce as the day went on!

Friendly competition and friends cheering on made for a fun and very productive day!  Lights were put out at 11:00 pm and we all left looking forward to another day filled with fun and encouragement!
