Spring Retreat Update!

It's not too late to take Renee's class, "Pam's Trip"!  Stop by CEC and see Diane U. to sign up and get fabric requirements and cutting instructions.  The fun begins at 6:30 pm in the Home Ec room!

Loose Ends will set up in the library beginning at 6:30 pm!

Members are encouraged, but not required to bring snacks to share! ;-)

A catered dinner by our personal guild chef, Sandy Ponte, is available Saturday evening at 6:00 pm.  The menu is an assortment of pizzas, Ceasar Salad , dessert and a beverage...all for the economical price of $15!

A membership meeting will take place immediately following dinner at 7:00 pm.  We will be electing new officers, establishing committees, forming special interest groups, and choosing what classes Bonnie Hunter will be teaching!  You'll want to be a part of this important meeting!

Hope to see you all there!

Sandy P. has again agreed to cater our dinner Saturday night!  It is so nice to have a great meal right before our annual business meeting.  It makes our experience feel even more like a retreat.  The cost is $15 and as you might recall, we ate the wonderful leftovers on Sunday.

Small Sized Mtg / Gigantic Inspiration

We held our emergency Quilter's Anonymous meeting today ... the group was small but the projects were inspiring!  Take a look!
Terry B. brought in these six table toppers that she had pieced, quilted and only had the hand sewing left on the binding.  Boy, has she been busy...she has made a total of eleven!  Yes ... you read that right!
This week Diane U. pieced this top!  Yes ... you read that right ... she made it this week!  And on top of that, she pulled all the fabric except for one from her stash!  It is from Eleanor Burns' book, Quick Trip Quilts.  The photo doesn't capture how beautiful it really is!

Our guild's second youngest member, Kelsey is home for spring break.  She brought in a bargello quilt top that she pieced while in high school.  Yes, you read that right, she was in high school when she pieced this top. Today she and her mother began putting the borders on!  What a masterpiece!  What talent she has!
The youngest member also made an appearance!  Princess Amelia had fun playing with our "A-bobbin-ation" necklace!  It was wonderful to spend an afternoon together.  Priceless.

Covert Operation Revealed!

Mission accomplished!  Secret Agents Kay and Lila completed their covert operation successfully on Saturday!
Newlywed and QBee Linee' was confused when her new husband Jason insisted she come to "Open Sew" specifically at 2:00 pm!
Many of us made blocks for a commemorative quilt to honor their new life together.  What a beautiful new family!
Kay and Lila were the agents in charge ... here is a picture of the block Lila made.  Love the camo fabric ... very Cordovan!  Kay and Lila did a terrific job ... thank you Kay and Lila!  We all wish Jason, Linee' and Russ and lifetime of happiness!
Val shared with us the Judy Neimeyer tablerunner and placemats she recently finished.  They are a wedding gift for her niece.  Stunning!
Lila had completed this tablemat that we pieced last summer.  It is made with a charm pack and turned out great!
Sam had recently finished this lap quilt from a kit she had purchased in Oregon while visiting her family.  It is lovely and made us all want to curl up and take a nap with it!
Lila had finished up the mystery quilt we did as a guild last spring.  It was like having a ray of spring enter the room when she unfolded it!
These are six inch crazy quilt blocks that Dawn is making.  What fun!  Bonnie Hunter will be so impressed when she sees this one!
I had to take a picture of Dawn with all her scraps ... heaven!
Terry was busy working on a Winnie the Pooh baby quilt ... lucky baby!
Julie spent the day beginning a new quilt, Terry Atkinson's Fire Escape!  She used the Accuquilter to cut out most of it!
Valerie and I were busy making matching tablerunners.  It is from G.E. Designs and is called Madison Square Runner.  It is a quilt as you go ... great to piece and quilt at the same time!
Sam was busy making her sister a pair of flannel pajamas.  The snowman fabric was perfect ... Sam became distraught when she realized that on the back pieces the snowmen were upside down!  We assured her that if the fabric design is upside down in the back ... it makes person's bottom appear smaller!  At first she didn't buy it ... soooo ...
... we had to prove it with photos!  See for yourself!  When the snowmen stand on their heads ... the backside appears smaller! ;-)  Once again we had a great time together!  Thank you Dawn for organizing this event for us!
