Quilter's Anonymous Resumes!

Members come to QA with a mission ... they often arrive with multiple projects!  That level of enthusiasm and optimism is infectious!
Sam finished the pieced borders on this ongoing project!
Later she made progress on another long-term and challenging project!  Approaching a project of this scope means taking it one step at a time.
Diane arrived with a new project ... it will be amazing!  She spent time getting it organized and began cutting!  What fun we will all have watching it evolve!
Dena finished hand sewing the binding on a beautiful quilt.  We can't show the front at this time, as it is a gift!  We all got to celebrate her finish with her!
Angela came with a beautiful selection of flannels ... she immediately cut it into squares!
She layered and quilted the squares ... and before we knew it ... she had them pieced into a top and was clipping the seam allowance!  This will be a beautiful rag quilt!
When it was time to leave for the day, she had it done!  It is ready to be washed, dried and given to a special little baby girl!

It is such fun to cheer one another on as we all make progress on projects!  It is great to socialize, talk of upcoming guild events, and share our quilting goals all while doing what we love!  QA is a win/win experience!

It may have been raining outside, but Cordova's quilters were creating their own version of sunshine at their monthly "Time to Sew" event!
Angela was busy finishing a Christmas quilt top!
Borders on!  Beautiful results!
Amber wowed us with her Hogwarts block!  The detail in each 4.5 inch paper pieced block is amazing!
Amber's son shared the bag he made recently with his grandmother Joan!  Sew sweet!
Valerie was busy making progress on a scrap quilt ... the results will be stunning!
Sam has the center of her Trellis quilt pieced!  Lovely!
Bee-utiful table mat paper pieced by Marianne!  Sew cute!
She finished piecing this gorgeous nine-patch for a friend!
Marianne spent most of the day working on making this assortment of containers ... all will be put to good use!
This is Marianne's current leader and ender project!  Tons of scrappy fun!

September events are being planned!  Quilter's Anonymous begins their fall season on September 10th and Time to Sew will be September 23rd!

Christmas in July Fun!

The Holiday Spirit was alive and well amongst our members on Saturday!  Christmas music was playing, Holiday themed treats were available and everyone was as busy as Santa's elves!
Angela pulled out a Jelly Roll from her stash and was making a holiday themed "Fastest Jelly Roll" quilt!
Marianne has been busy as a bee doing a bit of paper piecing ... literally!
Beautiful results!
She was also busy working on this scrappy nine-patch!
Susie started a Christmas log cabin quilt!
This is a quilt top that Susie pieced using all of her "bonus" right triangle blocks from her Gingham Stars quilt!  Beautiful!
Speaking of Gingham Stars ... Diane was working on hers!  All units are pieced!
Kay was busy working on her pieced mini quilt from our 30th Anniversary Event with Sherri Falls as well!
Kathleen was working on a Bonnie Hunter quilt!  We loved her collection of Holiday fabric scraps!
Tori has joined the miniature quilt block movement too!  Lovely results!
Sam was busy adding borders to her quilt top!  Nearly done!  Borders are always a reason to celebrate!
Shannon was busy making Christmas stockings for her sweet little family ... soon to be three!  A huge thanks to Shannon for organizing this fun filled guild event!  Hmmm ... rumor has it that many would like to see this become an annual event!

Happy July!  Happy Holidays!  Happy Quilting!

Quilts of Valor & Time to Sew!

Our June Time to Sew event is this Saturday!  Barb H. is out of town, so Co-Chair Sam will be opening up the Home Ec room and hosting the event!  Details are in the right margin!
A reminder to all members, Kay and Kathleen are busy organizing our Quilts of Valor service project!  Everyone is encouraged to make a "star themed" block of their choice in red, white and blue!  Blocks need to be 12 1/2 inches unfinished.  Blocks are due July 4th!  They will stop by on Saturday to collect any blocks that are ready at that time!  Such a worthy project!

See you Saturday!

Inspiration in May!

Lots of fun took place on Saturday, along with tons of inspiration!
Valerie shared her Trading Patches that was recently quilted!
She has also made great progress on this applique' quilt top!
She has also had fun with the "Block Heads" project!  She is doing the 6 inch blocks ...
... and the 3 inch blocks!  We were all impressed!
Barb was busy piecing blocks for a new quilt!
Sam was sewing gifts!
Marianne made multiple bags!
She also paper pieced a patriotic star!
Angela finished piecing this Winnie the Pooh baby quilt!
Kay and Kathleen dropped by to share a Quilt of Valor they recently finished!
Jackie brought some show and tell!  She pieced this adorable Dr. Seuss quilt and embellished it with machine embroidery!
For this sweet quilt, she took nine patch blocks that she had pieced years ago, turned them into a disappearing nine patch!
In the alternating blocks, she machine embroidered Precious Moments Alphabet motifs!  Sew very cute!
Along with three friends, she participated in this row by row mystery!  Each person made their own version!
Jackie added machine embroidery embellishments to this quilt as well!  Gorgeous results!
She also brought in an antique quilt top.  It is all hand done!
The work of those who came before us is always the most inspiring!  It is comforting to know that our quilts will out live us!
