Tea & Auction 2012 - Part II

The tables were beautiful!  The food was great!  The auction items were terrific!  But none of that compares to the people who attend!
The lodge dining room was filled with quilters and non-quilters alike.  All of them with the intent to socialize, seek treasure and support the guild's scholarship fund!

A couple of high school girls volunteered to serve tea...
They also modeled auction items while the bidding took place!  What fun!  The girls hammed things up and the crowd loved it!  Thanks girls for your assistance and adding to the fun!
Auctioneer Jerry and the Worker Bees did a fantastic job again this year!  Thanks so much!
Here are the pincushions we made as party favors for those who donated auction items.  You can read about the fun we had making them here!
A huge thanks goes to Wendy and the Orca Adventure Lodge for allowing us to use their facility free of charge.  Their generosity and Wendy's assistance during the event was extraordinary in every way!  We appreciate all that they have done for us over the years!

I neglected to get a picture of the Tea & Auction Committee Chairperson during the event.  Am sure it was because I was busy serving tea!  Sew, I am substituting a picture of her working on one of her auction items!  A huge thank you to Valerie for her efforts in making sure our annual scholarship fundraiser was successful in every way!

Tea & Auction 2012 - Part I

Beginning about 10:00 am this morning...members arrived to decorate tables ...
We are so grateful for those members who decorate a table!  Our guests have fun looking at the different themes.  It really adds to this important fundraising event!

After the tables are decorated, it is time to display the auction items.
Every year we are impressed by the talent and time our members willingly share!  We appreciate the scholarship funds your projects generate!  Thank you!

Every year our guild members combine efforts and create a large, bed-sized quilt to be auctioned off at this event.  This year Diane U. headed up the committee responsible for this beautiful queen sized quilt.  Members donated fabric from their respective stash!  Then constructed it!  Diane W. did the long-arm quilting!  It turned out beautiful!  Thank you Ladies!

Well, it is impossible to have tea without food ...
We served gallons of tea and no one went home hungry!  The food was delicious!  Thanks to those who brought goodies to share!

This has already become a very long post.  Part II will be posted in the next couple of days!  Stay tuned!
