Time to Sew Fun & Bonnie Hunter Plans are Set!

The group was small, but the accomplishments were great!  Our members are amazing ... and inspirational!  Here, see for yourself ... :-) !
Sam sewed the binding on her Mystery quilt ...
... this top was made with a Bali Pop...
... she was also busy designing and constructing a pillow made from hand dyed silk ...
... the silk was dyed with local wild mushrooms ... we were all inspired by Sam's design and workmanship ... it is just lovely!
Joan was busy working on her "Blooming Nine Patch" ... the orange theme is so striking ... it will be beautiful!
Jan came after she got off work and started a new "Stack and Whack" quilt!
Valerie finished piecing her Christmas themed quilt and has begun the machine quilting ... the photo just doesn't do it justice ... it is stunning!
She also began working on a baby quilt ... very cute!
President Dawn finished piecing her quilt from retreat and then spent the afternoon cutting strips for our upcoming Bonnie Hunter classes!
Grandmother-to-be Diane has been busy ... adorable baby quilt ...
... one of her themes this weekend was "The 3 B's", borders, backing and binding.  She accomplished the 3 B's for 4 quilts!
Her quilt top from Spring Retreat ...
... and another made with Bali Pops!
Some of you may not know the story behind this little quilt ... Diane's granddaughter's nursery is being decorated in a "Sealife" theme.  Too cute, right?  Especially since her Daddy is a commercial fisherman and both parents grew up here in Cordova.  Diane saw a picture of this quilt on the internet, but couldn't locate a pattern, designer, etc!  We were all looking everywhere ...
Thanks to the wonders of facebook ... eventually the request got to who could produce an answer!  The pattern had been published years ago in Quiltmaker magazine!  The magazine had no extra copies available ... but someone who works there gave Diane their personal copy!  They didn't just make a copy of the pattern and send it to Diane ... they gave her the entire magazine!  Talk about service ... I will forever be a loyal subscriber now!  Isn't the quilt adorable?  We all have fallen in love with it!
We enjoyed a pizza dinner ... quilter's style of course!
One of our youngest members joined us for dinner and the business meeting!  We love starting them young!

It was a productive and terrific weekend of quilting!  Most of the business meeting dealt with our upcoming event ... "Quiltville Comes to Cordova"!  Registration for local members has begun!  Class space is limited, so it is important to register early!  Registration is online ... just click on the "Event Registration Form" button at the top of the right margin ... take 3 minutes to fill it out ... mail in your fee ... and your spot for this event will be secure!  We will begin advertising the event statewide on July 15th, so don't procrastinate ... register now!
