Blue Ridge Beauty Fun!

It was raining ... a hard rain ... yes, we were soaked!  But nothing could dampen our spirits as we began hauling our sewing machines and supplies into the Masonic Temple ... after all, we were about to spend the day quilting with Bonnie Hunter!  And the weather?  Who cares ... it is perfect for quilting!

 While we were setting up ... Bonnie was busy signing books!

Look at how neat and tidy everything was ... we were all excited and ready to begin!

Everyone began making a lot of progress!  Here are some results...

It was so exciting to see how everyone's blocks came together!  Bonnie guided us through the process with her relaxed style and wonderful sense of humor!  What a terrific way to spend a very wet and rainy day!  It's great to be a member of the Cordova Northwind Quilters Guild!

An Inspirational Beginning!

What a way to begin our "Quiltville Weekend"!  Every bit of it was inspirational!

Of course, it all began with the Bonnie Hunter "Meet and Greet"!  It was a potluck open to guild members only!

As always, there was great food and a ton of friendship!

At 7:30 the public was invited to attend Bonnie's Lecture on Scrap Management...

...it was sew interesting to hear how her career began!

Then she shared some of the quilts she has designed and made using her system...

...it was fascinating to hear how each quilt evolved!

Then...came the segment where she demonstrated using fabric from clothing.  Too much fun!

Look what can be made from used clothing!

Who knew!

It was amazing!  Both Bonnie and her quilts are filled with sew much creativity ... everyone was inspired!

And tomorrow...we get to fire up our sewing machines!  Bonnie is going to guide us through the Blue Ridge Beauty!

Two more days of Quiltville mania!  Sew much fun!  Stay tuned!

Quiltville has Arrived in Cordova!

Yes!!!  It is sew true!  Bonnie Hunter has arrived!

And she is as excited as we are!  The fun begins tomorrow evening with a Member's Only Meet & Greet Potluck at 6:00 pm at the Masonic Temple!

The public is invited to attend the Lecture and Trunk Show at 7:30 pm!  Bonnie brought 100 pounds of quilts to share with us!  We've all admired her quilts online and in her books ... and are thrilled at the opportunity to see them live!  What a wonderful opportunity!

Participants attending classes both Saturday and Sunday can arrive at 8:30 am to set up before class begins at 9:00!

Oh My Gosh Good Golly!  We've been looking forward to this event for two years ... and the day is finally here!  We are going to have SEW much fun!

Bonnie Hunter Classes in New Location!

The Native Village of Eyak has graciously offered to let us use the Masonic Temple (free of charge) for the classes on Saturday and Sunday!  Sew... classes are the same day and time, just a different location.

We need everyone to bring an extension cord and if you have a multiple outlet one...that would be great!  We recommend you bring additional lighting if you own a tabletop lamp.  We will also need people who are willing to bring ironing boards and irons.

Remember...the fun begins with a Guild Member Only Potluck - Meet & Greet Bonnie!  Please bring your favorite Alaskan dish to share.  It all begins at 6:00 pm at the Masonic Temple!  After two years of planning...it's all about to happen!

Quiltville Update!

The excitement is growing as each day passes!  After two years of planning and dreaming ... Bonnie Hunter's visit is just around the corner!  There have been a few changes ... so take note ... here are the details!

Friday, September 23rd

• 6:00 pm  Alaskan Themed Potluck - Open to Guild Members Only
• 7:30 pm  Lecture and Trunk Show - Open to Public, $5 donation requested

Saturday, September 24th   Blue Ridge Beauty Class

• 9:00-12:00  First half of class
• 12-1:00  Lunch Break
• 1:00 - 4:00  Second half of class

Sunday, September 25th   Cathedral Stars

• 9:00 - 12:00  First half of class
• 12 - 1:00  Lunch Break
• 1:00 - 4:00  Second half of class

We have had to alter the schedule from the original plan because of location changes and her travel schedule!  There are a few spots left in Sunday's class, you won't want to miss this opportunity!  

Important Mtg. Tomorrow & AccuQuilter Event!

Hello Everyone!

Our Bonnie Hunter Event is only weeks away!  YA-HOO!  We need to cut strips!  The AccuQuilter will be available prior to the meeting tomorrow night beginning at 5:00 pm in the Library Mtg room if you would like to use it!  Come with your fabric pressed and trimmed to 13.5 inches (maximum width) or less!  You can have the strips cut in minutes!

Also...please plan to attend the meeting!  It is very important!  See you there tomorrow!
