Guild Gratitude!

We are so grateful for all members who made our Annual Tea & Auction possible.  And a huge thanks to the community of Cordova for supporting our fundraising efforts!

Now that the Tea & Auction is over, members spent Saturday working on all sorts of things!  We were all grateful to have time to work on projects important to us individually.  Many of the projects  must remain secret!  Tis the season!  We'll share what we can!
Shannon completed the first block from a quilt she had recently cut out!  New projects are such fun!
Tori and Sam were using a serger to make pillowcases.
Tori shared with us this super cute changing pad that she recently made for a new mother!  Practical and adorable!
Barb was busy using the Accu-Quilter and cut many of her scraps into a usable size!
She also shared with us a tote she designed to carry her new round, rotating cutting mat.
It works perfectly!  We were all very impressed!
Sally started a new project, using a new technique!
At the end of the day her charm squares and mini-charms took shape into this baby quilt!  So sweet and only the outer border left!
Terry was busy piecing a set of new placemats for the holidays!
Marianne was star gazing ...
... with gorgeous results!
Valerie made great progress on a sampler quilt.  It will be stunning!
Denna spent the day machine quilting the pieces necessary for a new travel bag!
Diane cut out a new quilt that must remain a secret!  What happens at a guild event, stays!  Her secret is safe with us!
We all celebrated with Sam when she shared her recent finish! It is always so inspiring to watch members work on projects and to be present when completed!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Don't forget we have a Quilter's Anonymous meeting this Sunday, November 29th!  Details available in the right margin at the top of the page!

Annual Tea & Auction 2015

Here in Cordova, Alaska, many consider our guild's Tea & Auction the beginning of the holiday season.  As members, we all look forward to this event as it is our primary fundraiser!  We support two, four year scholarships each year.  We are honored to be able to accomplish that!
The event was held again this year at Orca Adventure Lodge.  Even though they have closed for the season, once again they turned the heat on and reopened the dining hall for the day!  We are so grateful ... they let us use their amazing facility free of charge!
Members volunteer to decorate a table for guests!  For some members, decorating is a family affair!

Every table is lovingly decorated to ensure our guests enjoy their tea and treats!
Members make all kinds of items to be auctioned after tea is served!
Items range from things as small as pincushions and potholders ...
... holiday themed and wool appliqué ...
... to wall quilts ...
... table toppers ...
... a never ending supply of quilting inspiration!
Members also contribute lap sized ...
... full sized ...
... and even a queen sized quilt!  As always the items were beautiful, bidding was fierce, and everyone left happy!
A special thanks to these two high school seniors!  They volunteered to assist by serving tea and showcased the quilted items during the auction!  We appreciate their assistance!
A huge thanks to Diane and her committee who worked hard to make this event successful!

Annual Tea & Auction Details!

Our Annual Tea & Auction is this Sunday!
Member Details!

Auction Items
You can drop off auction items to Diane at CEC through Friday.  Auction items can be brought to the Orca Lodge at 11:00 am on Sunday!  This allows the committee time to display items for viewing.

Table Decorations
A huge thanks to those members who have volunteered to decorate a table!  Tables are available to decorate at 11:00 am as well

Food to Share
We need all members to bring finger food to be served buffet style during the tea!  We average an attendance of 100-120 individuals!

Invitations
We ask members to invite all friends and coworkers to attend!  Remind them that all auction items are made locally!  It is a great opportunity for them to begin their holiday shopping!

Thanks in advance for the auction items and baked goods you plan to contribute!   Diane U. and her committee have been working hard planning our primary fundraiser, we're all so grateful!  If you have further questions or concerns please feel free to contact Diane.
